Sorry to be vague on the technicals, but just want to say I have never had a successful migration with the new plugin. It always craps out with some vague error or says "migration canceled" with no explanation, and I always have to revert back to using to the legacy migration plugin (which still works great).

Our team is actively investigating "temporary file not found" errors. If you encounter this error in the meantime, consider customizing the migration and excluding the file or directory that is mentioned in the error.

Evan Wiegand Thanks for the feedback. I'm the product manager of the WP Engine Site Migration plugin. I looked up a few of your migrations based on your email, and I see a "temporary file not found" error that is suggesting an issue with the
wppa-pl
directory in Other Files. I also see you've had a few a completions since that attempt where you excluded Other Files from the migration. This may suggest a permissions issue with that directory. Could you try unchecking that specific wppa-pl
directory and try migrating Other Files again?I'm also going to send you an email if you want to continue the discussion there. I want to make sure the new plugin is working well for you so you're ready to transition away from the legacy plugin.

Kevin Hoffman: Thank you for checking so quickly! Admittedly I made this comment out of frustration, as "general UX feedback," based on multiple different failed experiences I have had with the new plugin on a couple sites over the last few months. I know that is not helpful from a technical standpoint, and that your support team would have helped had I asked and provided more technical info. Indeed I have just now had some success going back and repeating the process in pieces (customizing it to do only db, only themes, etc.). Oddly, several of those pieces were unsuccessful the first time, and then successful on subsequent attempts even though I made no settings changes. Excluding the wppa-pl directory finally allowed for success in Other Files, as you suspected. Thank you!
