Disabled WP Migrate

This disabled WP Migrate (formerly Migrate WP DB Pro). Which whatever, you can change your branding, but the new plugin doesn't provide 90% of the functionality, so now I can't export DB's or use my saved import/export profiles. This is not at all a replacement for WP Migrate and BlogVault's extremely reliable migration tool.

Hey Jon, thanks for the feedback. I'm the product manager of the WP Engine Site Migration plugin. This plugin was developed to provide push migrations for WP Engine customers who may not be WP Migrate customers. The new plugin is powered by some of the same code as WP Migrate (and developed by the same team). WP Migrate is disabled to prevent code conflicts for this reason, as the notice on the Plugins page suggests.
WP Migrate Pro can also be used to migrate sites to WP Engine, so you may not need the WP Engine Site Migration plugin if you currently use WP Migrate Pro and its additional capabilities.
Finally, if you encountered any specific errors or issues with the new plugin compared to your experience with BlogVault, please let us know so that we can improve its reliability going forward.

Kevin Hoffman: hey Kevin. Just following up on this. I tried the new migration multiple times. Always had problems and went back to blogvault. Extremely disappointed to hear wpe is planning on retiring blogvault.
I’ve used WP Migrate DB Pro since it was in beta. Love it for syncing DBs to local, but it’s never been as reliable as BV, especially when trying to migrate files. WP Migrate regularly fails if anything is a little off in the DB (special characters, odd collation, odd tales/content, blogvault doesn’t. Migrate Dab also fails on large and large numbers of files, BV doesn’t.
Again, I love migrate db pro for what it does…. It’s just not a real replace, ent for BV when it comes to cloning a whole site.

Jon Brown: Thanks for following up. I understand your disappointment given the issues you've had with the new plugin. I would really like to look into those issues for you and see if we can solve them. We have made many improvements to the WP Engine Site Migration plugin since the start of the Beta in September, including fixes for issues like special characters, database collation, and large files that you may have had issues with in the past.
After searching through our migration records for the new plugin, I was not able to find one where your email was entered at the start of the migration. I understand you have access to several WP Engine accounts with many sites, so I could use your help identifying the specific migrations you are referring to. Any information you can provide such as the migration ID, source/destination URL, install name, or error message can help us to serve you better.
I'm also going to reach out to you via email if you are more comfortable providing details there.
